The tourism in Peru has grown more in the last 5 years. There are hundreds of travel agencies that offer tours and expeditions all over the places. However, as a traveler, we look for to full fill our vacation with an amazing tour that really fit our needs. Here let me say a little bit about what is going with some of these tourist places or I would call freelances that promote their tours on TripAdvisor, Expedia, Booking and Trivago. Like I said, “EVERY ONE LOOKS FOR A SAFE AND AFFORDABLE PLACE TO STAY AND DO THINGS”. Let us be honest, for a few dollars that we don’t want to spend on our vacation, are we going to place our safety at risk? Well the truth is that hundreds of people really do it. In fact, they feel that saving few dollars will give them the ability to do more, but at the end, it cost more than the tour that cost a few dollars more and having all-inclusive with better services and quality things to do.
For 17 years I have been traveling to Peru and have visited
almost 80% of the Peruvian culture and tourist attractions. I noticed that the
majority of these companies, they like the sound of dollars and they are
willing to do wherever is comes to earning it, this is not a bad thing until it
gets at the point where the safety of the tourists are a big concern. The
government or police officers from Peru, won’t do a thing when it comes to this
matter. I have placed almost 20 complains during my 17 years of traveling in
Peru, and at this point, all it matter is that I am ok and the rest is just an
experience. But not all of these
companies are bad. My recommendation to people that is coming to Peru is to
take the time and review this business well and differentiate between
freelances and really tour operator.
If you are coming to
Iquitos and want to experience the Amazon Jungle of Peru, and not want to deal
with these fake, so call tour company, when in reality they are freelances that
rent lodges from a tour companies, take your time and asking questions or shop
around. The majority of freelances are on TripAdvisor, I am not sure how
TripAdvisor allows them to promote some properties and tours that they don’t
own or have. This issue makes that every legal tour company damage their image
and impact in a negative way in the tourism of Peru. The reason is because,
they offer to take people to a nice lodge, the lodges are realisticly
fantastic, they are real, but the company is not accountable for any accidents
or injuries that may occur during the tourist visit. Because these freelances only rent the bed,
and the dining room along with the boats to do the excursions but not the
safety of the people.
The question is, “YOU COULD BOOK YOUR TOUR DIRECTLY WITH THE
COMPANY?” The company probably charged you 10 dollars more, but your safety is
guaranteed. I don’t want to sound so dramatic a ruin your visit to Iquitos.
Here I would like to recommend some really good and reliable tour company that
are real and affordable.

Explorama http://explorama.com/
3# Amazonia
Expeditions http://perujungle.com
4# Amazon Rainforest Lodge https://www.amazon-lodge.com/
Each of these companies have a unique way to operate with
their adventure programs. However, if your intention of coming to explore the
Amazon Jungle of Peru is be close to the nature and wildlife, I strongly
recommend JG Expeditions Tours. The reason is simple, they are located in the
heart of the Yarapa jungle, way in the jungle, and their excursions and tours
allow people to see and do adventure trips where you will have the opportunity
to sightsee the wildlife in their own habit.
Plus is affordable. Well, I hope
this recommendation very helps you in deciding how to plan your tour in Peru.
Leave a question or comments, I will be more than happy to help you.
